Frequently asked questions
Are photos uploaded to a server?
Not when the camera reads barcodes and dates. What it captures is turned into text on the spot, and the image is neither saved nor sent. If you keep a photo of a product, it is first saved on your device, and in paid stores that use sync it is shared only within that store so team members can see the same photo. It is not public, and other stores cannot see it.
How much can I use for free?
Scanning, stock, FEFO sorting, and alerts are free with no limits. Only three things need Pro: team invites, device sync and backup, and the waste loss report.
How much is Pro?
₩39,000 a year per store, with a 30-day free trial. There is no limit on people. However many staff you have, one store needs just one subscription.
What if there is no internet in the stockroom?
Everything you add or edit is saved on the device first, and it uploads on its own when the connection comes back. Scanning keeps working while you are offline.
How does it decide which products to pull first?
By expiry date (FEFO), not by the order goods came in. Even if an item came in later, if its date is sooner, it goes out first.
A product name looks strange or inappropriate.
You can flag it right next to the product name on the screen where you add a product. Once a name gets two flags, it is taken down automatically. If you flag it without signing in, we review it and take it down ourselves. If it is urgent, let us know at the email above. We will take it down ourselves and block accounts that do it repeatedly.
It read the date wrong.
The camera reads a date only when you tap Read, and the date it reads only fills in the field. It is never added on its own. Check it against the package before you tap Add; if it is different, tap the date and type it again. For products where you used Read, the text it read and the final date are used to improve recognition. No photos are uploaded then, either.
I just want to flag something quickly.
In the app, Settings → Send feedback sends it straight to the developer with one tap. The line is optional, and you don't need to sign in. If you want a reply, sign in and turn on “Get a reply”. What is sent along is listed in section 2-6 of the Privacy Policy.
Can I bring in my existing product list?
Yes. In the app, pick an Excel file under Settings → Import stock (owners and managers). Product lists from Toss POS and expiry lists exported from Beep are read as they are. For anything else, match the column names of the product list template or the expiry list template. Prices are read as whole numbers for now. The file is read only on your phone. When you import signed in, products with no name in the shared list yet share their barcode and name. Prices are never shared.
I want to delete my account and data.
If you leave a store, delete a store, or delete your account in the app, the linked data is deleted along with it. To delete a store, tap the store name at the top of Home and choose “Delete” on a store you use alone (owners only). A store with team members can be deleted after you remove all of them. Deleting a store doesn't cancel your subscription, so cancel it in the App Store or Google Play. You can also send a request to the email above and we will take care of it.
Flagging inappropriate product names
Product names are shared data that many users fill in together. So text one person writes also shows up on other stores' screens. For barcodes nobody has named yet, the app may also suggest the product name from public data published by Korea's Ministry of Food and Drug Safety (Food Safety Korea, “barcode-linked product information”), and it shows that source on the add-product screen. Wherever a name comes from, if it is inappropriate, either of the two routes below works.
Right in the app
On the screen where you add a product, tap Flag under the product name and choose a reason (Spam or ads / Offensive / Personal info). Once a name gets two flags, it is taken down automatically. If you flag it without signing in, we review it and take it down ourselves.
By email
Send the barcode and the name you see to support@salva.kr, and we will take it down ourselves and block accounts that do it repeatedly.
